I can't wait for summer vacation...

cause I'm getting beat up by a 6 year old....
Take a closer look-He clawed my eye out! And a few weeks before that, he BIT my eye-missing my eyeball by millimeters. I think he was determined to make me blind, just like him. And for a blind kid, he has some AMAZING aim. He has also clawed my hands and I'd come home with new scratches all over my hands regularly. I meant to get a picture of that, but hadn't and now they're just scarred. Poor boy is blind and autistic among other things, so he randomly scratches and bites and all that fun stuff. I finally said I was done working with him. As much as I love the little kid, I'm a little worried about getting some type of infection and that is the last thing I need right now. Anyways, I really have enjoyed work this year. For those of you who don't know, I had this great, fun job and NMSBVI-a state preschool for visually impaired children. Most of them are diagnosed with a syndrome which includes a vision problem, so they're at our school. They have multiple problems mostly. I have absolutely loved the kids, love the working schedule of a school (Christmas break, spring break, summer break....lots o' breaks!), loved that I could walk to work (up until we moved), love that I only have to drive about 3 minutes now to work.... It's been a great experience!
Be grateful if your children are born healthy and well-what a miracle! I think it's easy to take for granted how much can go wrong. But if they aren't, you might be in for a ride, but I can promise you they will absolutely steal your hearts still!! I will miss these little guys when my time here is done....

Spring Break

For Spring Break, we went to visit Bryce & Lisa in Austin! We've been trying to figure out a time to go down there since they moved there in the fall.
I didn't take many pictures, but here are a very few...
Soph thought this was pretty funny-talking to Grandma & Grandpa over Skype...from a box!

Bryce had lined up these guests for a surprise visit for us!
This is the Nelsons-she was my YW leader when I was 14 or so and her husband was my seminary teacher my freshman year (he was out of town). It was an absolute highlight to the trip to get to see them again. I feel old because Lauren, the daughter in blue, is now a teenager. I remember her when she was like 2.
Betsy and Tanner braved the long car ride back with us to spend a few days in Albuquerque before going back to Idaho Falls. We LOVED having them here! It's so fun to have familiar faces here. Again, not many pics, but here are the few I have:
up on top of Sandia Crest. We rode the world's longest tram to get up there. Beautiful sunset from the top! Betsy said that Abq is colder than Idaho Falls! HA!

They checked out our soon-to-be-new-place!

And Tanner loved seeing the Air Force Base where Micah works and they also spent some time at the National Nuclear Science & History Museum...while Betsy & I did some Easter crafting.
Most of you looking at this blog, probably also check out Besty's, but here is a way better photo journal of my spring break! Austin Albuquerque

Built-In-Friends....

We found these little guys all through our house...each one had their own name! Guess the drywallers got bored....Nice of them to leave us some 'guests' in the house!

and people think all this hot state has to offer is cactus...

We met up with our favorite AZ couple at the end of February & skied right there in Arizona! Brandon & Erica-the snowboarding teamMicah & Katy-the skiers
We stayed for night skiing....and apparently they block off half the runs and we got to a point that the only route down was VERY steep. Micah says it was a blue, but I SWEAR it was a black diamond...and hence went the WHOLE way down like this....on purpose...it is only my 3rd time skiing
The only bad part of the trip was that they had a great weekend without their kids,
but we missed seeing their 2 cutie pies!

Picture Book

This is like one of those picture books-I see the pics in my file so I'll put them up, but I wasn't there so I don't know what happened, so I can't add much text. Make believe what happened from the pics (and I'll add what I know)
MAN TRIP 2009/2010
Skiing in Taos, NM
The main fact is that Micah & Jason always make fun of their Dad for being an old man....
however, he always lasts longer & is never sore the next day after their adventures like they are
Gorge Bridge-all I know happened here is that they threw rocks over
NM Temple

what a nice wife I am...to let my husband go away on an annual mantrip... this year OVER Valentine's weekend...& make treats for them when they got back
