....so we took him camping for his birthday and he LOVED it! We decided to just do his favorite things for his big day. This kid loves being outside and makes a run for the door anytime anyone comes in or out of the house. He loved crawling around the campsite & in the tent. This site had a little wall around it (which of course he loved crawling over and dropping down the 2-3 feet to the ground) and was covered with woodchips, which was nice because then he didn't get too muddy. It had rained that week and it rained all night but it was fun.

Micah was excited to use his tripod and took some nice family shots!
and his actual birthday on Sunday ...ended up being much busierthan we'd expected and we had some friends that are leaving town for dinner
we did get one Skype visit in-Micah's family had their own b-day party in MI,complete with a lion cake, too, and balloons!
and continuing with his favorite things, we got him dum dums
toilet paper,
and cheez whiz!
and his absolute favorite thing is his lion that my sister Carrie made for him when he was born, so we made him a lion cake!

did you make the cake? that's pretty good, didn't know you were so crafty. I'm sure Emmett's going to love showing off pictures of his first birthday party in about 18 years and letting everyone see his parents got him toilet paper... classsy! was the party after camping b/c he looks like he's sucking down that can of cheese whiz the whole camping trip too, delish! you missed his most favorite thing though, ME!! so maybe you need to do a do over with me thjere!
