Day 3

Monday...
we did some HEAVY DUTY science experiments
(actually, there is no explanation for the goggles, except that they found them and loved them)
Emmett loves hanging in the sink...he loves the faucet, the mirrors, the independence, everything! until he learned to turn the water on
and back to science...
and here is the adorable gift from Besty in its entirety
and you might not appreciate this picture, but here's Jayden...in his brother's glasses
(if you see the previous pictures)
He looks pretty handsome!
Later that afternoon we headed to the Theater to see Tangled...not too bad! And that was followed by the park, and hotdawgs...

Day 2

Ok, I apologize for the hiatus, and for the lack of explanation of pictures! We had FAMILY IN TOWN!!! Those are happy days for us! plus I was trying to just get the pictures up of all the things I've been meaning to post and figured I'd go back and add that...so hang with me. Eventually....
'listening' to conference
Emmett also loved Jax's glasses
We went to the temple between sessions

So we had some snacks at the temple (and found out you really shouldn't have picnics there, but that's another story) so we were pretty picky about being the kids picking up their wrappers, etc... Then Jax was walking around the walls and looked into these bushes next to the temple and says "Someone was not very respectful of the temple. They threw an old TV into the bushes!" We were all shocked and ran over to see...just to find out that it was just one of the HUGE lights that shine on the temple at night. It was very funny and very cute.

Payton & Jayden loved getting into the exersaucer

Taking a walk

and look what Besty made him...

Let the Games Begin!!! Day 1

Saturday 5am....The Anderson & Thompsons arrive! ...and crash, for the most part! (for those not in the family, my sister Nik decided to drive to Albuquerque from northern Utah with her four kids for spring break and brought Besty & T-diz with them for extra fun...and drivers...and crowd control...and for photographers...LOTS of reasons!) Tanner drove all night, and only slept 30 min before leaving with Micah to visit the Trinity site -- what a stud!

Making breakfast for the troops

The Trinity Site is the location where the world's first nuclear explosion took place on July 16th, 1945. It's located on White Sands Missile Range in south central NM and is only open for visitors 2x a year (it's a pain to hide all the alien spacecraft wreckage that's normally strewn across the range for weapons tests -- keep in mind that the Trinity Site is only 140 miles from Roswell, NM, the crash site of an alleged alien craft in July 1947).

-building the bomb-

-blowing the bomb-

UFO conspiracists hypothesize that radiation from trinitite (or "desert glass") created by the nuclear blast caused the guidance systems on the alien spacecraft to malfunction, resulting in the crash.

Micah, holding radioactive Trinitite they found on the ground. We made him wash his hands before dinner that night.

Tanner at "ground zero"

The little farmer's ranch where the bomb was assembled

(how did they get it out the door?!?!)

back at the home front...

Jayden's so wasted that on the way upstairs for a nap,

he crashed ON the stairs ;)

oh, there's a camera!?

let's show off!!

and now, let's eat it!

Jax was WAY excited to make sure we got some quality chess time in

2 studs...Tanner had a 38 hour day!!!

and to end the day, cute little Payt!

SAn FrAN!

Micah had a business trip to San Fran and invited us to come with! It was a pretty sweet gig-
hangin' with Daddy in the hotel room
If you look closely, it says no throwing missiles off the Golden Gate Bridge...
if you can carry a missile in your pocket, you probably shouldn't even be on the bridge!
It was VERY windy walking over the bridge, so I put my hood on Emmett...of course, that's when he started crying because it blocked his view! He hadn't cared that it was freezing!

At the base of the bridge is this park with an old fort, called Fort Point...the name of our street...the name of the park is Presidio, the name of our neighborhood! coincedence?!

and we ate at some old diner right in the city...
yummy! should have just ditched dinner and gone straight to dessert

Arizona

Sadly enough, we went to Arizona for a funeral, but it was good to see our friends & Jason came down from Salt Lake, too.
Emmett's first road trip & his first grass! (at the temple)
I'd never seen citrus trees before & they were GORGEOUS!
I really wanted to pick one...however, we quickly found out everything within reach had already been picked ;) and YES, we found out also that they were only ornamental.
However, the grapefruits out of our friend's yard were DeLisH!

With Uncle Jason

Me with one of my favorite little ladies, Brylin
and we went to lunch all together before leaving town
micah's cousin is also in Phoenix, so it was great to meet her!
with the RobishawsAnd our friends said oranges from someone's yard would be tastier, so Micah pulled over on this busy road and I am so ashamed to admit that I might have yanked some that were hanging over the walls...
