Snuffing Junkie

So I've given Emmett nosedrops maybe 3 times ever. But he found them within reach one morning and gives them to himself now...whenever he can get his hands on it. Not sure what he finds enjoyable about this. Maybe just the fact that he loves taking lids on and off

Projects as of late, and of course, the Little Mr.!

Had to throw in one of the wedding, but I'll do more of our Christmas vaca later!

He picked up this little nativity (it's Mary holding Jesus)
and he did his little 'baby wave' to the baby Jesus & was kissing Mary on the head.
I don't know where he gets this from (maybe he's Catholic deep down;) but it was sweet

and for Aunt Besty Pants finally! He LOVES this hat from her
and wore it an entire weekend-helped me put it away one time, then cried when he realized what we'd done and wanted it back & tried to put it on his head

& Micah just photographed away as Emmett tried to burn down the house.
He only sticks things that are on wires or cords into the outlets, so he's kinda smart!

Micah was trying this bike around and Emmett had to get on...
& hold onto BOTH handle bars...while still trying to sit on the seat, of course

onto some projects...

I looked all over for the right sized frame and anything new & this big was expensive, so after a few tries, I found this at Goodwill, of all places ;)

used some scrap fabric....

and came up with this to match the quilt Aunt Besty made!

Here is a before of our room...we've never had anything but a frame to hold up the mattress...

I don't have a before of the actual dresser, but this is more or less the same

When Mom & Pops came last spring, they helped me finish up the bed

& I finally just finished & added 2 nightstands

(Mom helped me pull all the extra stuff off the dresser & sand it down for the finished product!)

It needs some more color and stuff, but here you have our bedroom...
originally it was going to go into the guest room & I was going to paint the walls gray & have white furniture, but Micah claimed it for our room since it was needing (we were looking at buying furniture but haven't found anything we love, so I just started this project to see if I could do it)

and back to the real reason anyone looks at the blog...

Emmett kicks off his cover and since his bedroom stays a little cooler, I put him in this 'sleeping bag' lately. He apparently loves it and comes running every time I lay it out!

at last! Just 2 days ago Emmett really started walking!



and was back to crawling when he woke up the next morning!

It's been a rough year....

Happy Halloween!

We have family in Albuquerque now! How crazy is that?! Micah's cousin, Mark, and his wife, Sarah, just moved down from BYU for a job at Sandia! Last night we had a Halloween dinner (we had orange soda and doritos....other than that, it was not especially festive),

carved pumpkins

and ate delicious carmel apples!

A New Post!!!!

Emmett turned 1 last month!!!!
....so we took him camping for his birthday and he LOVED it! We decided to just do his favorite things for his big day. This kid loves being outside and makes a run for the door anytime anyone comes in or out of the house. He loved crawling around the campsite & in the tent. This site had a little wall around it (which of course he loved crawling over and dropping down the 2-3 feet to the ground) and was covered with woodchips, which was nice because then he didn't get too muddy. It had rained that week and it rained all night but it was fun.

and his actual birthday on Sunday ...ended up being much busier
than we'd expected and we had some friends that are leaving town for dinner

we did get one Skype visit in-Micah's family had their own b-day party in MI,
complete with a lion cake, too, and balloons!
and continuing with his favorite things, we got him dum dums

and cheez whiz!

and his absolute favorite thing is his lion that my sister Carrie made for him when he was born, so we made him a lion cake!

what's up with blogger? did I imagine that they always used to automatically rotate pics for you?

Day 6

Christopher arrives...with donuts!!

we went to Explora that afternoon:

You could fly this remote plane and the wind would blow in your face

Wind blow out of these pipes and you could 'balance' the balls in the air...

Emmett just kept trying to grab them and loved it!

Christopher got the bubbles to cover his kids!

This is the elevator....you heard me right! Elevator!

the electricity station was really fun...you

could build circuits and get light bulbs to turn on and stuff

and this was some type of heat camera...black areas are cold

guess who's hands those are?!

and in mom's family fun magazine, I found this cute project that Kenzie did!

A rug out of t-shirts...it wouldn't lay flat, though, so she folded it in half and made a purse!!
